Description
2-Day Experimental Etching with Tamsin Salehian 10-4 each day, January 7 & 8 Experimental grounds (soap grounds and white grounds) allow for fascinating textures and alternative drawing techniques. This method involves applying non-uniform decaying solutions to aluminium which gives the etching process the ability to bite into the printing plate in new and interesting ways. On day one the workshop will explore various methods and recipes to apply ground, sugar lift key areas, draw back in and create etched printing plates. Day two we will look at various multicolour printing techniques including surface rolls, viscosity printing and a la poupee. No drawing experience necessary, but if you would like to bring design ideas or prepared sketches, plate size and details will be sent out 3 weeks before the workshop. Students will come away with two plates and a number of prints. Good for beginners to experienced printmakers When: 10-4 each day, Jan 7 & 8 Cost: Members: $280 Non-members $310 + Materials: $20 Bookings. tamsin@printstudio.org.au
