Artist Statement
This print is featuring the cliffs and ocean at Diamond Bay near Vaucluse where my mother grew up. This print is a tribute to my mother and her idyllic childhood where she grew up in the depression and war years. She passed away recently and her ashes were scattered over those magnificent cliffs of Diamond Bay.
Bio
Susan Baran studied at the National Art School and City Art Institute (now UNSWA&D). She has exhibited extensively in many solo and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally and is a member of Sydney Printmakers currently serving as President. Her work is held in many collections eg National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of NSW, Manly Art Gallery & Museum and Artbank. She is currently teaching printmaking classes at Warringah Printmakers Studio.
