Symbols throughout civilizations have provided the focus for Penny McKay’s artistic concerns. Her research began with the investigation of the earliest forms of symbols engraved in the rock surfaces throughout the world. These are termed petroglyphs and they can represent belief systems. With this work she has referenced the coincidences that have occurred with symbols through time to the recent findings in science and systems.
