frances powrie
The work of Frances Powrie reflects an investigation of what landscape is and how the elements of nature and culture are brought together when a landscape is devised. In her works, Frances Powrie uses the grain of the plywood for initial direction. The patterns in the grains are reminiscent of landscapes in themselves and the resulting prints reflect the notion of landscape as a complex of woven strands, integrating personal memories, perceptions and experience.
