Anthea Boesenberg uses medical imagery as the source for a series of works celebrating the fabric of the body. It is not just the structure of bones and organs, but the physical properties of the x-ray film and scans which make the image: the bloom on the film holds a texture of fingerprints and scratches, marking its history, its passage through many hands, as it reveals secrets within the body. This material has been integrated into her images.
